Arizona History Convention

Arizona Humanities Council (AHC)

AHC funds, directs and supports programs that promote understanding of human thoughts, actions, creations, and values; accomplishes its mission by providing direction and resources for four program areas: heritage, books and reading, community dialogue, and teacher education.

Gallery of the Open Frontier

The Gallery of the Open Frontier is a digital library of photos, paintings, and drawings that pertain to the history of the American West.

Grand Canyon Historical Society

GCHS develops and promotes appreciation, understanding and education of the
earlier history of the inhabitants and important events of the Grand Canyon
and surrounding area.

Heritage Preservation

Provides national leadership and coordination for the preservationo f America's cultural heritage including: works of art, anthropological artifacts, documents, historic objects, architecture and natural science specimens.

Historic Register and Restoration of Historic Sites

The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and protection of Arizona's prehistoric and historic cultural resources. The staff have expertise in history, archaeology, architecture, grants management. They serve the state National Historic Register, offer a tax incentive and grants program for historic restoration and preservation, and help people connect with federal grants programs.

Historical League

Organized in 1979, the Historical League provides fund-raising for the AHS Museum at Papago Park supporting educational programs, research, and collections.
