Volunteers or “docents” are dearly appreciated at the Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens.
Friendliness and a cheerful spirit are the primary requirements. We ask that volunteers contribute at least 8 hours per month of pure enjoyment.
Here are key areas in need of volunteer support:
- Museum Greeters and Tour Talk Leaders
Welcome visitors to the museum and initiate colorful conversations about exhibits. History buffs welcome!
- Garden Angels
Provide lite garden care, including raking, watering, weeding and trimming under the leadership of our Garden Coordinator.
- Candle Dippers & Activity Leaders
Share your love for candles and crafts with museum visitors by helping with special hands-on activities at the museum.
- Jack Mellon Gift Shop – Customer Service
Greet guests, stock shelves, and usher guests to the museum door. It’s all part of the fun at the historic Jack Mellon Mercantile.
- Museum Grounds Caregivers
Perfect for folks who love to turn a wrench for a great cause.
- Museum Marketeers!
Promote the museum by dressing-up as historic characters and telling their stories while wandering Yuma’s historic downtown. Spread news of museum activities using social media and videography.
- Performing Pianists
Tickle the ivories on our Chickering and Sons square grand piano from the 1800s and dazzle visitors with your classical or ragtime musical favorites.
Your support is needed!
