Chapter 8: The Great Depression and World War II: Introduction

The 1900s were a time of change. A depression in Arizona- and then the Great Depression that affected the whole country- brought hard times. As the country recovered from the Great Depression, World War II began in Europe. The United States entered the war after the Japanese attached Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The efforts of many Arizonans, helped our country and the countries we supported win the war. Arizona grew and got stronger as a result of these tough times.
