Ariona Historical SocietyThe Arizona Historical Society Museum, in its beautiful desert setting at the edge of Papago Park, is available for all types of functions including weddings, receptions, proms, fundraisers, presentations, private meetings, and training retreats. Your event at this 82,000 square foot state-of-the-art cultural center will be in the midst of engaging permanent and changing galleries chronicling the modern history of central Arizona. All setups are customized to meet the needs of your group. You might even explore the option of having living history reenactors make history come alive. Conveniently located near freeways, lodging, and other amenities, the museum is just minutes from ASU, the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Garden and the city centers of Tempe, Scottsdale, and Phoenix. The adjoining parking lot can accommodate up to 230 vehicles and 5 buses. The AHS Museum at Papago Park is guaranteed to give your guests a uniquely Arizona experience.

Steele Auditorium

The wood-paneled auditorium seats 272 in theater seating with 6 additional wheelchair spaces. It boasts adjustable house lighting, a large curtained stage, PC-equipped smart podium, and a full range of audio, video, and online capabilities. WiFi internet access is also available.

Rental Includes:

  • Use of A/V equipment
  • Complimentary WiFi internet access
  • Use of lobby in front of the Steele Auditorium for registration or refreshments

Roosevelt Boardroom

The boardroom is equipped with a notebook PC, LCD projector, projection screen, WiFi internet, HDTV, whiteboard, flip chart easel, video and teleconferencing capabilities and seats up to 50. This second floor room offers views of Papago Park, “A” Mountain, and the East Valley.

Rental Includes:

  • Use of A/V equipment and flipchart
  • Courtesy access to telephone, fax machine, and copier

Additions:

  • Breakout rooms available
  • Glass pavilion and/or brick courtyard set up for lunch for $250

Copper Room

The Copper Room seats 40. It is available for a variety of uses including as a staging area for larger events or as a meeting room.

Additional Options

Sandstone Lobby
The lobby can be used for vendors, breakfasts and lunches. Dinner rounds or cocktail tables can be brought into the space to seat a maximum of 200 guests.

  • Includes up to 20 rectangular banquet tables with 2 chairs each

Breakfasts $500

  • Includes food and beverage tables with up to 12 high top cocktail tables

Lunches $700

  • On Mondays, the sandstone lobby may be used in place of the brick courtyard for lunch use.
  • Includes 72’’ round dining tables with chairs for up to 150 guests.

Daytime rentals include complimentary admission to the museum exhibits.

Brick Courtyard

Brick Courtyard

The museum’s most popular event space, the brick courtyard can host up to 400 guests in a venue that makes a statement. Lush twinkle-lit ficus trees, monumental flat arches, and a waterfall designed around the Roosevelt Dam accent the red brick surroundings.

 

Sandstone Lobby

Sandstone Lobby

By day, a two-story glass vestibule that opens into the courtyard naturally lights the museum lobby. The sandstone walls and polished sandstone floors are softly backlit in the evening. A grand staircase adds to the ambiance. This lovely setting can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner.

 

Glass Pavilion

Glass Pavilion

The glassed-in pavilion overlooks a stream-fed riparian area. The building seats up to 60 guests for lunch or dinner. The building also lends itself well as an exhibit space or attractive addition for food and beverage service adjacent to the courtyard.

 

Desert Terrace

Desert Terrace

The raised terrace celebrates the construction of Roosevelt Dam and overlooks the courtyard. Surrounded by native landscaping, this intimate area is great for cocktail receptions and small gatherings.
